Of Victory

Fatigue threatens to take over,
Tears sting the eyes,
You’ve done what you had to,
But it’s still not recognised..

The road is now uphill,
The climb a painful task,
The goal to reach the mountain top,
How much further you ask....

Carry on, there’s no stopping you,
The song of conquest is sweet...
Once you reach that coveted top
You’ll have the world beneath your feet...

And then you’ll laugh and scream aloud
Tears of joy you’ll see..
You will then realise,
It was worth it..this victory...
